VETTEL PERFECTLY POSITIONED

The Red Bull drivers Sebastian Vettel has said that he is perfectly positioned in order to claim his third successive F1 world championship title in the final race of the season in Brazil. The Brazilian Grand Prix concludes the F1 world championship for the 2012 season just as it has always done in the past. This time around, Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso will be coming into the weekend with an opportunity to win the drivers world championship title. Sebastian Vettel has a 13 point advantage over Alonso in the table, which he believes to be a comfortable advantage ahead of the final race.

Fernando Alonso led the table for most of the season, but an incredible surge in form in the last few races has meant that Sebastian Vettel has been able to claim four successive victories in the last seven races. This has enabled him to overtake Alonso at the top of the table. Vettel has also said that the Brazilian Grand Prix is one of his favourite tracks in an F1 calendar, while it is also one of the toughest due to the anticlockwise nature. Alonso has admitted that Ferrari do lag behind Red Bull when it comes to outright speed, but is confident of upsetting the odds.

“We need to confirm that for this weekend, so all eyes will be on practice, to start the weekend, to get into the groove. We can be as confident as possible at this stage. Obviously we know there is a lot ahead, but we are in a great position. I spoke to some locals and there was heavy rain three days ago which wasn’t expected,” said Vettel ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel is widely expected to join Ferrari for the 2014 season, and he will be keen to do so as a three-time world champion.
